According to the National Science Teacher’s Association, “Student interaction with
organisms is one of the most effective methods of achieving many of the goals
outlined in the National Science Education Standards (NSES).” Animal Magic strives
to create presentations that parallel the recommendations of National and State
Standards for the life sciences. The Michigan benchmarks that are consistently
addressed include the following:
I.1.EL.1: Generate questions about the world based on observations.
I.1.EL.2: Develop solutions to problems through reasoning, observation, and
investigations.
II.1.EL.2: Show how science concepts can be interpreted through creative
expression such as language arts and fine arts.
II.1.EL.4: Develop an awareness and sensitivity to the natural world.
III.4.EL.2: Explain how physical and behavioral characteristics of animals help them
to survive in their environments
We recently purchased a decent quantity of rare tarantulas that were just
discovered in a remote area in Texas. These beautiful tarantulas don’t even have a
common name yet. Their genus and species is Aphonopelma armada and they are
extremely docile. These would make excellent school mascots or science room pets
and we have decided to give them away….one to each school that calls and books
us for sometime during this school year! These will retail for $100-$150 each but
they will be free (until we run out) just for the asking. Please call us at (313) 819-
5719 to book an assembly or with any questions. These are non-venomous, nice
looking, very docile, misunderstood creatures. This special one-time, never before
offered deal is for new schools as well as schools that have had us in the past.
This is our way of giving something educational out to schools that help support
our mission. Remember, this super deal is only good for about the first 40 schools
that request them.
It’s been over 12 years since we’ve had to raise our prices and we’ve decided to
keep it that way, even though it’s killing us in gas. Call us to discuss our fees since
they vary depending on location and the number of assemblies (the more
assemblies, the cheaper the prices).

Libraries all over Michigan and Ohio have livened up their programs with a little
“Animal Magic!” With standing room only, we have brought the pages of some of
literature’s most beloved books to life. Shows can be general or specific to the
summer reading program theme.
BE CREATIVE AT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY
We’ve designed a unique program for next summer’s theme. We’ve made a CD
comprised of both obscure and well known animal related songs. Mark will play a
little of each song until someone from the audience figures out the title or theme.
Mark will then bring out the corresponding animal and educate everyone about it, as
well as throw in a few of his custom designed illusions. Here are just a few of the
songs:
Tie me kangaroo down, mate
I don’t like spiders and snakes
Puff, the magic dragon
Birdland
Book soon because our summer schedule is already filling up. In addition to all the
private birthday parties, baseball stadiums, fairs & festivals, and pet expos last year
we also performed at 57 libraries throughout Ohio and Michigan!

The huge crowds surrounding the “Animal Magic” presentation at festivals and
events around Michigan and Ohio shows just how wildly popular this act is! Draw

dramatically slash our regular rates in exchange for donations identified on our wish
list. Scouts are given the opportunity to collect/bring in items to help meet the
needs of our rescue program and learn the value of giving back. In exchange, we
make Animal Magic as affordable as possible to your group. We are now booking for
monthly meetings and Blue and Gold Banquets!
